Return & Refund Policy — The Divine Five

Thank you for purchasing Divine Five Volume 1: Motherland. Every order means a great deal to us, and we strive to ensure your book reaches you in perfect condition. This policy applies to orders placed on www.divinefive.in and shipped within India, in Indian Rupees (INR).


1. General Policy

As books are printed and dispatched specifically against confirmed orders (i.e., orders for which payment has been successfully processed), we do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges for:

  • Change of mind
  • Ordering by mistake
  • Incorrect shipping address provided by the customer
  • Courier delays
  • Minor print or color variations
  • Dissatisfaction with content, story, or writing style

Please review your order details carefully before completing your purchase.

2. Eligible for Replacement

A replacement will be arranged only in the following cases:

  • You received the wrong book
  • The book has a manufacturing defect (e.g., missing, misprinted, or upside-down pages)
  • The book has improper/faulty binding
  • The book suffered significant transit damage (e.g., torn cover, crushed corners affecting readability, water damage) — not to be confused with minor shelf wear
  • The outer packaging and the book itself are both damaged

Reporting window:

  • Transit damage or wrong item received: must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.
  • Manufacturing/print/binding defects discovered after unboxing (e.g., while reading): must be reported within 72 hours of delivery, since such issues are not always visible at the time of unboxing.

3. How to Request a Replacement

Please share the following:

  • Order Number
  • Full Name
  • Mobile Number used at the time of order
  • Date of Purchase
  • Clear photographs and/or video evidence (see Section 4)

4. Evidence Requirements

For transit damage or wrong item received, an uninterrupted, unedited unboxing video is mandatory. The video must:

  • Be filmed in one continuous shot with no cuts or edits
  • Clearly show the sealed package and shipping label before opening
  • Show the complete unpacking process
  • Clearly show the damage or incorrect item

Claims without a valid unboxing video meeting these requirements may be rejected.

5. Replacement Process

  1. Once your claim and evidence are reviewed and approved, we will confirm via email/WhatsApp.
  2. If the original book needs to be returned to us, we will share pickup/return instructions and cover the cost — you will not need to pay for return shipping.
  3. Your replacement will be dispatched after the defective/incorrect book (if requested) is picked up, unless we notify you that no return is required.
  4. Replacement shipping is free of cost to you.
  5. Processing typically takes 7–10 business days from the date of approval, excluding courier transit time.

If your replacement also arrives defective or incorrect: please report it within 24 hours using the same process above. We will investigate and arrange a second replacement or, if that isn't feasible, a refund.

6. Non-Returnable / Non-Replaceable Situations

Replacements or refunds will not be provided for:

  • Intentional or customer-caused damage
  • Claims reported after the applicable reporting window (Section 2)
  • Delivery refused by the customer at the time of delivery, without a valid reason
  • Incorrect shipping address provided by the customer at checkout
  • Damage limited only to outer packaging, with the book itself intact
  • Dissatisfaction with the book's content, story, or writing style

7. Refused Delivery / Return to Origin (RTO)

If an order is refused at delivery or returned to us as undeliverable due to an incorrect/incomplete address provided by the customer:

  • We will contact you to arrange re-shipment. Re-shipment charges will apply and must be paid by the customer.
  • If you no longer wish to receive the order, a refund will be issued for the product value only; original shipping charges (if any) are non-refundable.

8. Lost or Missing Shipments

If tracking shows your order as "delivered" but you have not received it, or if a shipment appears lost in transit:

  • Report this to us within 48 hours of the delivery date shown in tracking.
  • We will investigate with our courier partner (this may take 5–7 business days).
  • Based on the outcome, we will arrange a free replacement or a full refund, at our discretion.

9. Refund Policy

Refunds are issued only when:

  • A replacement cannot be arranged due to stock unavailability, or
  • We cancel your order before it is shipped, or
  • A situation under Sections 5, 7, or 8 results in a refund instead of replacement.

Refund method: Refunds are processed to the original payment method used at checkout (or via bank transfer for COD orders, where applicable).

Timeline: Approved refunds are processed within 7–10 business days. Please allow additional time for the amount to reflect in your account, depending on your bank/payment provider.

If your order included GST-applicable invoicing, a revised/cancelled invoice will be issued along with the refund.

10. Order Cancellation

Orders can be cancelled only before they are processed or shipped. Once an order has been shipped, it cannot be cancelled, but the return/replacement terms above will apply if there's a genuine issue with the product.
